This open-source project was created based on interest and has no commercial plan. This means you can use it for free forever, or fork it and modify it yourself (you must comply with the GPL-v3 open-source license). You don't have to worry about the free version having limited features or closed-source security issues.
As for maintenance, open-source is all about "powering with love." In my spare time, I'll put more effort into it, but when I'm busy, I might not be able to attend to it for a while.
